Brinsea’s new factory in Weston-super-Mare was opened by Kate Humble, farmer, journalist and broadcaster. Kate Humble, a farmer and journalist best known for presenting the wildlife shows Springwatch and Animal Park, which was based at Longleat Safari Park, was given the honour of cutting the ribbon to declare the new premises officially open. Kate is a Brinsea customer and has ordered one of Brinsea’s new OvaEasy 100 Advance incubators for use on her farm.
Representatives from major poultry clubs were in attendance along with people from specialist centres such as The International Centre For Birds Of Prey, Bristol Zoo and several vets and wildlife centres. Several visitors also made the trip from Europe to be at the opening ceremony.
Thousands of chicks have hatched inside Brinsea’s incubators since the company was first set up in 1976 and Brinsea decided to make the move from its previous base in Sandford to a brand new factory at Weston Industrial Estate. The move to new, purpose-designed premises means all of Brinsea’s operations are now under one roof making for greater efficiencies. Guests were given a tour of the new site and the chance to see a range of products on offer from the company.
