Supporting Wildlife Recovery: Brinsea's TLC-40 at Curious Critters
Curious Critters Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation Centre
Based in Backwell, near Bristol, Curious Critters Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation Centre was founded six years ago by Sarah and Emma, who combined their extensive knowledge and passion for wildlife to create a safe haven for injured, orphaned, and vulnerable animals. Since its establishment, the centre has become a vital resource for local wildlife, providing expert rescue, rehabilitation, and care for a wide range of species.
Sarah from Curious Critters with the Brinsea TLC-40 Advance
‘Each year, Curious Critters receives more than 800 wildlife intakes, caring for animals including corvids, pigeons, hedgehogs, and many other native species. In addition to supporting wildlife within the local community, the team is often called upon to assist with rescue situations further afield, sharing their expertise wherever it is needed.
The centre is equipped with dedicated outdoor rehabilitation areas, an aviary for recovering birds, and indoor triage and care facilities that allow animals to receive the specialist treatment and support they need. Through their commitment, compassion, and hands-on experience, Sarah and Emma provide a lifeline for hundreds of wild animals every year, helping them recover and return to their natural habitats whenever possible.
The TLC incubator has made a transformative difference to the centre’s critical care capabilities. Many of the animals admitted are extremely young, injured, dehydrated, or suffering from shock and require carefully controlled warmth, humidity, and a stress-free environment during the most vulnerable stages of their treatment. A dedicated TLC incubator provides consistent, veterinary-grade support for orphaned babies, hedgehogs, birds, and other critical patients, significantly improving their chances of survival and recovery. With over 800 wildlife admissions each year, this equipment is in regular use and enables the team to deliver an even higher standard of emergency and intensive care to the animals that need it most.
For some of the animals who arrive with us, having a warm, secure and carefully controlled environment can make all the difference. Our new TLC-40 provides essential controlled heat and humidity, helping vulnerable animals maintain the conditions they need while they recover. One of the greatest benefits has been the ability to safely accommodate larger animals who previously may have been much more difficult to care for during those critical first days which we could not provide before with our previous smaller incubator.
This unit has become a true safe haven and has been life-saving for us, being able to provide a stable environment while they heal gives our team valuable support during some of the most delicate stages of their recovery.
Every rescue animal deserves the best chance possible, and this wonderful piece of equipment has already made a huge difference to the care we can provide and we are so grateful. We couldn’t be happier to have it as part of the Curious Critters Rescue.’
Your efficient customer service and after sales care combined with the three year warranty is very reassuring and is a big factor in continuing to choose Brinsea products.
Very helpful company. I have a 2005 incubator made by them that has been in more or less constant use since I bought it new. I dropped it yesterday and broke the fan, called them up and it being so old...
