The Brinsea Connect app allows the user to operate and monitor the Ovation 56 EX Connect incubator remotely, using your local Wi-Fi network. The easy to use app includes extra features such as count down to hatch and the remote connection brings convenience and flexibility to the user. All the incubator functions are duplicated on the app including temperature and humidity monitoring and adjustment, settings and notifications of alarms. The incubator control is unaffected if internet connection is lost. Updates to the Connect app will allow future features and functionality to be added to incubators as they become available.
Once you have downloaded the app to your smartphone all you need to do is to scan the QR code on your product and register your incubator. The app then takes you through the setup step by step, connecting to your Wi-Fi network. Once setup is complete, you can then either use the incubator buttons or your phone to make adjustments to control your incubator. Any adjustments you do on the incubator show on your phone and vice versa.

I am a long-time fan of Brinsea products and always recommend them if someone wants a long-lasting, quality incubator that consistently provides great hatch rates. I upgraded to the Ovation 56 EX Connect app controlled incubator after 10+ years of using the Octogon-20. I just completed my first hatch and had a greater than 85% hatch rate which is amazing considering the adverse events that led up to setting the eggs and during incubation. As a little background, the eggs were of unknown age. Clutches were found under barns and under bushes between two different farms. During incubation, we lost power no less than 7 times. Despite all of this, the eggs were pipping on day 18 and all fully hatched by day 20. So, what about the app? This may be a new feature, but it functions very well and was greatly appreciated for tracking events during incubation. I am one of those people that read the instruction manual front to back and I admit that all the steps to programing such a robust incubator manually was a bit daunting. In fact, it is what kept me from ordering one of these years ago. Now, with the app, you can intuitively change settings right from your phone! It was such a simple, seamless experience, and I cannot begin to say enough good things about it. The app is very simple, but it is reliable, easy to navigate, and works seamlessly with the incubator. All your settings stay where you put them, even when you lose power, and the alarms are awesome. The incubator features themselves are excellent. I really dislike having to make manual adjustments or turn eggs so, for me, a fully automated incubator is a must-have. The humidity control is the best part because I can never get it just right without that pump. It is amazing having your chicks not drown in the shell or get too dry to hatch during those last, sensitive lock-down days. I know a product like this is really expensive, but when you count the cost of buying eggs, or you need a regular supply of chicks, this incubator will make each hatch cost effective in the long run. Lastly, cleaning the incubator is something I take seriously. This is not quite as easy to clean as my Octogon-20, but it wasn't difficult either. I broke it down fully and wiped out all the little hatch debris, and sanitized the parts fully. It took about 30 minutes from start to finish and I am ready to hatch again. A worth-while purchase any hatcher will appreciate.
The products I have had from Brinsea have always been good quality and the Ovatation 56 Ex Connect is no different. The incubator was easy to set up using the new app which I found simple and straight-forward. One of the great things about using the app rather than the digital display on the incubator, is that you don't end up scrolling through a menu to amend the settings. Just one touch and you are into the setting you want to change. For those that are wary of tech, don't be afraid to try the app as it's simplicity makes it easy to use. I would highly recommend this product from Brinsea.

Set up is very easy and the app is great for checking the incubator when out and about, very easy to change the settings etc and great for peace of mind. Fantastic customer service as well, 10 stars. Would never buy an incubator from anyone else!
The incubator connected to wifi with minimal effort and the new Connect app is very intuative. Using the new app the incubator was ready to use (for queen bee rearing - so setting changes required) within a few minutes of opening the box. I'm very impressed. Based on my experience with Brinsea products, I'm very confident that this new incubator will again meet their very high standards.
