Description

The EcoGlow Safety 1200 is ideal for keeping newly hatched poultry, game and waterfowl warm for the crucial first days and weeks. The low voltage heater panel warms the chicks directly by contact and radiant heat and is far more economical than a conventional infrared lamp, using about 10% of the electricity of a 250 watt suspended lamp, which is important when heating for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Contact with the EcoGlow Safety 1200 is a more natural way of raising chicks than a heat lamp. It avoids the stress of being under light both day and night, the chicks get used to the natural light changes of night and day which improves weight gain and feather growth.

The metal heater plate of the EcoGlow Safety 1200 improves heat radiation and evenness of temperature under the brooder as metal is a much better conductor of heat compared to plastic alternatives. The lower contact temperature and the wide height adjustment means that chicks can be 'contact brooded' (like the mother hen) for maximum comfort and lowest wasted energy.
The flared 'skirt' around the heater retains more heat, improving efficiency and reducing energy use.
The EcoGlow Safety 1200 has easy height adjustment for a wide range of chick sizes and its tough plastic and metal construction makes it durable and easy to clean.
Water-tight (IPX7 Safety Standard) construction and low voltage operation are designed to comply with stringent electrical safety standards.

PLEASE NOTE: This product is for indoor use only and the room temperature should not drop below 10° C (50° F). The EcoGlow should be located in an area free from draughts and chicks should be provided with plenty of bedding.

I’m a veterinary surgeon with a special interest in poultry and have used Brinsea incubators and brooders for years as they’re always so reliable. They’re easy to use and efficient to run meaning they’re great for use in practice or school incubation projects. I would recommend Brinsea every time

Brinsea ecologlow safety 1200 brooder

Bought 2 brooder plates last year the 1200 stopped working and I lost 20 ornamental pheasants and some poultry chicks Sent back to Brinsea they sent me a new one and told me that after testing found no faults on returned brooder Now after running it for 1 week same fault luckily I checked as I added some new chicks so moved them elsewhere so they were saved Would not buy again lack of confidence in this product.

NOTE FROM BRINSEA: We are very disappointed to receive this review. We received the EcoGlow 1200 brooder back for testing - it was put on test in our Technical Department for 4 days, and we were unable to find any fault with the PSU, heater or leads, it was working correctly. We sent out a replacement PSU to ensure there were no problems with his replacement brooder.

Used this for all my Hatches from ducks to quail. Never let me down. Chicks have enough room to move around etc and is easy to clean. Recommend.

The screw in legs make it very easy to clean, is extremely cost effective and compacts flat when not being used, for easy storage. Would highly recommend the cover as well, due to it making it set up so much easier to clean.

Really handy screw legs makes altering the height very easy. Takes the worry out of any fire risks caused by heat lamps. Would suggest having the cover as it makes cleaning a lot easier

After using heat lamps for two years, I switched to this brooder for safety reasons. It is easy to set up, safer than lamps or heaters and the chicks had no problem adapting to it. It certainly gives peace of mind and controlled warmth.

Easy to adjust

Much better than my old brooder, the legs are so easy to adjust. Just turn the legs to alter the height to suit the size of the chicks. Cheap to run too.
