After extensive research & lots of advice from other chicken breeders, I bought this as my first incubator approximately 2 years ago. I wanted something which would be easy to use, but not so much that I would need to replace it once I was a bit more experienced. The automatic settings take all the guess work out of hatching & are so easy, I even let my neighbours & their 3 year old hatch some eggs for me this year. I enjoy the whole process from beginning to end.....even the clean down. If you’re unsure, the YouTube “how to” videos are really helpful.

One of the best investments I'v made

I was in two minds about spending this much on an incubator, as I'm just a hobby breeder but it's paid for itself in the large increase in the amount of eggs that I now get to the hatching stage. It's incredibly easy, even for a total novice such as me, it's set up in such a way that it's very user friendly. It's also very automated, the eggs can go in and it's takes care of everything, the humidity, temperature, the turning (even if like me you hatch chickens and quails it alters how much they are turned, very clever), without too much fiddling, and when you get a bit more confident and want to try altering things slightly to test out how it effects your hatch rate it's very easy to do so. I've also found the Brinsea team to be extremely helpful - when I've had any questions or needed help I've always had replies to my emails almost immediately, and they've always been happy to help me out with any queries. Over all this is a really nice looking, easy to use and well made product, it's solid and I foresee it lasting a long time with good care. I would recommend this and when I upgrade to a larger incubator I will be coming to Brinsea.

Great kit

I have now used this twice to hatch bantam poultry, it is very easy to set up and the manual explains everything, what to do, how to do it and when to do it, even giving extra hints to the best settings. And although i had an initial problem the help desk was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Its a nice compact machine, and comes apart easily to clean ready for the next hatchings. I certainly recommend this make and product to anyone wishing to hatch small numbers without using a broody.

Easy to use.

Lovely incubator, easy to use and clean. Instructions are clear and simple to follow. The hatching mat is a great idea - fits in the bottom, just dispose of after hatching. Good visibility of the eggs, my kids love to watch the chicks hatch . Definitely recommended.

2 lots of 100% hatch rate, but...

I would put this as 5*, as we've had 2 lots of 100% hatch rates with our Khaki campbell ducklings since we purchased this in March, however I've recently put in 12 chicken eggs and today (a week and a half in) the incubator crashed and went cold, so the eggs won't have survived. Somehow the incubator is apparently workihg now but it's too late; the chicks have all died and I now don't trust the incubator. Note from Brinsea - this sounds very odd, we can't think of a reason why the incubator would go cold then be working again - we have emailed you for more details.
