Fantastic starter incubator and really easy to use with great results
I was advised by a friend to get a Brinsea for my first time hatching. Great recommendation, instructions clear and easy to set up. We were able to watch the chicks hatch. I will definitely choose a Brinsea in the future if I decide to expand.
I started with a little mini 2 and hatched every egg I put in it. That was it! I was hooked! I needed another, and another! I cant praise them enough! They fulfill all promises and their customer service is impeccable. Always friendly and helpful staff! I tell all of my egg buyers about Brinsea. There are no other incubators on the market worth buying as far as I'm concerned! Thank you Brinsea and your lovely staff!
This was my 1st time hatching eggs and found this incubator really easy to use. Instructions are easy to understand etc. I would highly recommend this little incubator to anyone, especially 1st time users. Brinsea also have loads of videos on how to use there products on YouTube etc.
Easy to set up and get going and useful instructions and guidance for the various egg types. Quite good value compared to some models I believe. There are a couple of issues that could, I think, be easily rectified.: 1. The cover is smooth and having just washed your hands to handle the eggs it can easily slip from your grip and smash the eggs- some small handles or texture on the cover to aid grip would be useful. 2. The temperature range for all the egg types is in the 0.1 degrees (so for Ducks it needs to be 37.4-37.6 degrees centigrade) but the internal thermometer is in 0.5 increments so it is exceptionally hard to ensure the temperature is correct. I solved this by buying a separate digital thermometer. However Brinsea could supply the incubator with a thermometer with 0.1 degree increments. 3. Finally, and most frustrating, is the temperature control. A tiny fiddly plastic screwdriver to fit into a slot on a small adjustment screw. There is no positive engagement between screwdriver and screw so it is had to tell if you are actually turning the screw and tricky to see. Worst of all is the increments again; a quarter of a turn is roughly 2 degrees so if you need to raise or lower the temperature by even 0.5 degrees that would be one sixteenth of a turn and you must then monitor the temperature to ensure you have not gone too far either way. It is the worst feature since temperature is so critical to hatching your eggs.
Its a good entry level incubator, the MINI eco11 , but the screwdriver is tiny, I have to summon my wife to do the adj's. There's ample room to put a longer more manageable screwdriver in. I buy British whenever it's possible and will pay the extra pound (s) for the quality however this screwdriver belongs in a cracker at Xmas. Overall I'm impressed with my incubator and will stay loyal to the Brinsea brand . Regards Ted K
We are new to breeding chickens and the Eco II was easy to set up and use. We now have three happy, healthy little Orpington chicks. Highly recommended.
Recommended Brinsea from my friends' family, always go for great quality and safety over the cheaper, very low quality products you find on search sites! Look no further than Brinsea!
This is my first incubator and it’s so easy to,use, easy to clean and great to watch the chicks hatch without having to lift off the lid. There’s nothing about this incubator that I don’t like. Thoroughly recommended.
After been advised by an acknowledgeable chicken breeder that mini II eco would be the best one for me to use, I ordered one. Absolutely delighted with it, easy to use, maintain correct incubation environment and brilliant for viewing chicks hatching. Which my daughter and myself are currently doing. It’s a perfect small incubator for the very small time chicken owners like ourselves would just what to hatch a few chicks to add to the flock. We didn’t invest in the turning plate but have eggs resting to go in once this lot hatch so think a plate will make it easier than the individual turning. It really is a super little incubator at a great price.
I managed to have a substantial hatch with the Brinsea mini Eco 11 love it so very happy with this product a good starter for someone who's hatching for the first time
I've had my mini for around 15 years, and we have moved twice with a cage full of hens! The incubator is still going strong, and I bred 5 chicks last summer. One hen went broody, and hatched another 3! All doing well. As a relative 'newbie' hen keeper (25 years) having been brought up in London, have found your advice and products very user-friendly.
Love this incubator. Always given me fantastic results. Easy to use so ideal for beginners. Straight forward. Recommend!
Great incubator my son bought me this for my birthday. Hatched some great chicks
We used the Mini 2 Eco Incubator to hatch our first set of eggs, it was so easy to use and to clean afterwards. We managed to hatch 5 out of 6 eggs and it was our first time ever attempting to incubate anything. :) cannot fault their products as we also have the eco glow which was also brilliant.
First time I tried hatching my own chicks, I purchased the eggs online and to be honest I didn't hold much hope, popped in the 6 eggs and followed the instructions in the booklet and 21 days later I had 5 out of the 6 hatch! This incubator is perfect for someone starting out, very simple but effective and one that I will be certainly be using next time, but possibly with more eggs!
Excellent product, perfect size and price range for a hobby keeper, ample size helps to kerb my enthusiasm when it comes to hatching!
I’ve had many a good hatch in this incubator. It’s the best one I could find at a reasonable price.
Best incubator ever, keeps temperate throughout hatch, perfect viewing area. Used in my primary school and the children watched 8 chicks hatch in front of them. It was amazing, children thought 21 days felt like 21 years. Well worth the wait though
Got 2 of these now work great. Much bet than cheap Chinese ones. Egg alent hatch rate
I operate two mini eco incubators, I have used for chickens, ducks and even quail, very impressed with the temperature control and ease of use as well as humidity retention, without a doubt one of the best incubators in the market today. Very easy to clean, maintain and use, 10/10 all round
Temperature stays steady and is easily changed when needed and precisely to, it does what I needed it to do and more, my chicks are coming along very nicely and are expected this week, customer support is quick and very helpful and I’m impressed that you get a 3 year guarantee. I would recommend this product to family and friends any day.
As always a great starter incubator. Easy to use , great to view hatching. Amazing results and so simple
I bought this for my dad to replace his ancient incubator and he loves it. Very good quality and works well, being able to look inside at the eggs is a nice feature. Would highly reccomend!
I bought this incubator last year and have used it several times. It is so easy to use, great for children and amazing to watch the eggs hatch without opening the incubator.
I’ve hatched three times with this now. I bought it thinking that I’d upgrade if I got hooked but I really like this incubator. I’m available for turning the eggs and it’s a good size for me. So far I’ve had excellent hatching rates with 100% in both chickens and ducks.
Best incubator hands down! I have multiple sizes and they all work very well!
Really easy to use incubator. Nice and simple as it’s my first time incubating. I had great success and only had one egg that was In fertile and the rest all hatched. Thank is brinsea.
Have used many small incubators over the years but the brinsea mini eco with its ease of use and brilliant temperature control is definitely the best by far
The Mini II Eco Incubator is an excellent product except for one thing: In the manual as well as on the box it says there's room for 10 chicken eggs. But I could only put in ten of an average size. So I had to disappoint one.
I have had this incubator for about 8 months now and I am perfectly satisfied. Quail hatch rate is about 90%. It keeps the temperature perfectly level and there are no issues with humidity either.
Wow these products and company is amazing. This incubator is so easy to use keeps it's temperature spot on. Easy to assemble. Used it for the first time I put in six quail eggs and hatched five beautiful chicks. I knew I would only get five as on day 11 I candle the eggs and noticed one wasn't fertile. So I had 100% hatch rate. They hatched on different days and was worried when to take them out of the incubator. So I rang customer support and spoke to a lovely friendly lady who explained things to me. Perfect all the way I now have five healthy chicks xx
I got two of these as present a couple of years ago, They really helped me start up and learn the process. Great product for beginners. I now use the 380 egg incubators, but am glad I started with this product as I learned all the important basics with it.
I bought one of these for my home educated children. It was the best incubator we could of bought for a starter machine, very easy to use. We hatched chicken eggs and then quail eggs. We had a very successful hatch. They took full responsibility of the eggs. We had a wonderful experience watching the eggs hatch. The eggs were in plain view so we could see every stage of them hatching and then the chicks drying. How on earth they fit in the eggs is amazing. I would recommend this incubator to anyone. The staff at Brinsea were also very helpful and supportive, they sent us pics of all the stages of candling and what the chicks would look like in the egg.
I've hatched two batches of pekin bantams and had 100% success. Easy to use (I bought the semi automatic kit), easy to clean afterwards. Great visibility. 100% would recommend.
I had wanted to hatch some chicks for some time so did my research online. Basically, all the experienced people on social media told me: get a Brinsea. And I haven't regretted it. The instructions for set up were simple - we followed them to the letter and hatched six healthy chicks first go. In fact, all the viable eggs hatched, even though they were mail order and had been through the post! It was easy to keep the humidity right with the external top-up point so I didn't have to open the lid too often in hot weather. I deliberately chose the manual version, both because it was very reasonable. and because it meant my kids could get hands-on turning the eggs, making the experience even more enthralling for them. The unit was quiet - just a gentle hum so we had it in a study room where it was easy to get to. All in all, this was a brilliant, reliable bit of kit that contributed to that rarest of things, a project the whole family worked together on and found fascinating and exciting.
A Super incubator, hatched all eggs first time easy to use.
I will never get over the joy of putting eggs in my Brinsea and three weeks later, tap tap tap, cheep cheep cheep, new life. It's a brilliant, easy to use and compact machine which just does the job and then out into the big wide world and a Brinsea brooder until they're ready to grow on.
We are delighted with our mini incubator. Very easy to operate. With our first batch of hens eggs we managed to hatch 4 out of 6. Wonderful to watch.
i find this to be a great item , as i have only a small garden and small flock of chickens and ducks , i can remove eggs and place them in the incubator so to stop the girls going broody and keep them laying more eggs .philip
After years of using a broody hen I decided to invest in my first incubator, the mini II echo has been brilliant. It's simple to set up and use would definitely recommend to anyone starting out
Numerous attempts with another incubator resulted in a single success and temperatures were obviously not stable or uniform. This little thing is rock solid. The first time and straight out of the box with this and two out of three fertile eggs hatched. Gets very crowded in there if fully loaded with eggs so I had to move the chics out within 24hours. Hand turning three times a day isn’t so bad using a couple of pencil marks at 10 and 2 as in the videos. I cut out a mat from the base of a mushroom crates (a plastic lattice) to stop the eggs rolling around. Can’t wait until new season hatching eggs become available
I can't speak and write English very good so I will try as best as I can. The incubator has a good end result, but I used it just once.I started with 11 very small chicken eggs (less then 10 normal chicken eggs) but that's a little bit too much for the incubator. Not for the 21 days of brooding but during the time the chickens came out. Two of the eleven eggs where not fertilized, so that was 'a benifit' in this situation. An other point, you have to turn the eggs manual, that'a not a problem for me, but I read you do not have to open the incubator because the chicken could die. Well, I can not turn the eggs without open the incubator. And third, the level of water is too wet when you fill the first part as in description! I used three hygrometers but the humidity will raise over 80%!! I red a tip to cover the little water tank till you find the good humidity. that was a good solution, and at the end of the period I had 8 very cute chickens!
Great incubator, especially if you can be there to turn eggs, and monitor them consistently, exceptional temperature regulation
I have used this product this year for the first time. Have had 60% sucess rate.
I purchased this for children to use with ducks, quail and geese, and it has served them brilliantly time after time. We are now over-run with poultry!
Being my first incubator, I was a bit taken aback upon realising that the fan would be on 24/7 (I thought when it got up to temperature it may have switched off only coming back on when necessary) but now, not surprised really and it wasn't a problem. I think even two chicks is plenty in this, falling about and lurching forward; wouldn't want any more than 4 hatchlings in it for longer than 12 hours. I would worry about chicks hurting themselves on the thermometer which does get in the way. From the successful hatch, it's apparent that there was enough humidity just from adding water to the reservoirs as ordered - however, the incubator was in a cool and ventilated area. Thought the postage to NI was quite a lot.
